Building practical AI capability in a banking environment
Context and challenge
Banking staff needed a practical way to use AI for workplace tasks while checking reliability and retaining professional judgement. A multi-week programme connected structured prompting to management, reporting, risk, and vendor-related work.
What was delivered
- RACE prompting: Role, Action, Context, Expectation, applied to workplace exercises.
- Management, reporting, risk, and vendor-related exercises grounded in realistic tasks.
- Hallucination awareness, source grounding, and abstention when the evidence is insufficient.
- Critique, revision, and comparison of outputs to make review a repeatable part of the process.
- Research tools and reusable AI workspaces, including prompt portfolios and project instructions.
Tangible outputs
Session slides, practical exercises and homework, worked prompt examples, and reusable reference materials. Participants worked with prompt portfolios and persistent project instructions that could be adapted to recurring responsibilities.
Supported contribution
The programme provided a structured method for preparing prompts, checking evidence, comparing responses, and revising outputs. The materials gave staff a reference for continued workplace practice.
Who delivered the work
Ali Atrushi delivered the programme as part of his professional responsibilities at First Iraqi Bank (FIB).
